Thematic Areas Of Operation
In line with our missions and vision, the TCLD works in four key thematic areas;
Governance & Community Development
Under the good governance thematic area, MCLD focuses on social accountability and budget tracking as well as the monitoring of publicly funded projects. We also promote community and citizens’ participation in local governance, especially the participation of the youth and of marginalized groups in decision-making.
Livelihood & Skills Training
This focuses on working with state institutions and other informal master craftsmen/women to provide skills to young people through formal and informal channels. It also focuses on adding value to the existing crafts to make them competitive.
Education & Media Technology
This involves promoting ICT for deprived and rural Communities. It will also focus on working with educational institutions and departments to encourage learning including IT, promoting Gender and ICT use, and interested in the dissemination of new and innovative technologies to deprived communities.
Migration & Rescue of Victims
In collaboration with the livelihood program, the Migration program focuses on advocacy at the source areas to discourage rural-urban migration through skill development. It also focuses on the returnees of the northern head potters to sensitize potential migrants.
