The Tudu Center for Leadership and Development has taken the initiative to commence focus group discussions in communities identified as possible hotspots areas in the Sagnarigu constituency in Northern Region.
On Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th October 2024, the Tudu Center team visited Zagyuri, Damankunyili and Youngduni all in the Sagnarigu constituency to engage the community members in focus group discussions on ways to deal with electoral violence especially during the December general elections. The team met and interacted with identifiable stakeholders in these communities who have direct engagement with the local people and have influence in their groups.
This is one of many important initiatives the Tudu Center has taken forward building the conducive environment that will enable the various stakeholders to address issue of violence especially during the upcoming elections.
Other communities will be visited in the coming days to discuss the situation and will also engage the community members in this regard.

These chiefs expressed their gratitude to the Tudu Center for the initiative and expressed their support for peace and transparent governance and elections especially during this coming polls. They appealed to the electoral commission and other key parties to ensure that the elections are held with level of confidence from the public and the political parties. They encouraged the electoral commission to always try to build confidence and trust to avoid any political instability in the country.

This programme is designed to roll out various measures and activities to ensure that the election process remains open and transparent and that the election results are fair leading to a successful outcome.
The Tudu Center is a local non governmental organization dedicated to promoting and supporting participatory governance and accountability in northern region. They are also engaged in promoting stable and sustainable peace and security in all areas of northern region.
