The Northern Regional Minister Alhaji Alhassan Saani Shaibu on Saturday 25th May 2024 launched the Dance for Education Project by the Tudu Center for Leadership and Development (TCLD) at the Savana Center for Contemporary Arts (Red Clay ) in Tamale. The Minister was supported by the Paramount Chief of the Sagnarigu Traditional Area His Excellency Naa Abdulai Yakubu and the former Chief Director of the Northern Regional Coordinating Council Alhaji Alhassan Issahaku.

The Regional Minister praised the TCLD for initiating such a development project to support in the enhancement of education in the region. He encouraged the participants of the project to consider this initiative as the vehicle for their educational development. The Minister also appealed to both the traditional and development partners to support this project to succeed.

On his part, the Co-Founder of the TCLD Osman Mubarik Abu outline the objectives and vision of the Dance for Education Project. He praised the commitment of the children towards this project and challenged development partners to fund initiatives of this nature particularly those in the local communities like chogu. He Said the project commenced three(3) years ago with 12 children and has increased to the present 60 children who are within the ages of 10 to 18 years. He also appealed to donors to support the establishment of the Education and Talent Development Hub (EduHub) which is being started at the TCLD office to complement the Dance project.

The event was attended by representatives from development partners, academia, youth chiefs, community members and individuals from in and around Tamale.
